What breaks without it
Fashion buys on drape and detail. A hem that changes length between shots is not a stylistic choice, it is a returned garment.
How the run is built
- 01Describe the garment as a spec sheet: fabric, weight, hem, closure, hardware.
- 02Use directed moves that show drape — truck past, pedestal down — rather than cuts that hide it.
- 03Run the identical shot list per look; only the garment clause changes.
The part you write once
This block is prepended to every shot in the run before it reaches the model. It is the reason shot four still has the same cast, the same room and the same grade as shot one. Edit it and the whole sequence moves together.
Floor-length ivory silk slip dress, bias cut, thin straps, no hardware. Model with dark hair in a low knot, bare feet. Empty gallery space, polished concrete, tall north-facing windows. Daylight only, soft shadow, film grain, desaturated.
The part you edit per shot
Shot one is directed from text. Every shot after it opens on the previous shot's final frame, so the cut lands on continuous motion.
- 01[Static shot]
Full length, model standing still, fabric settling from a previous movement.
- 02[Truck right]
Camera slides past as she turns; the bias cut catches and releases the light.
- 03[Pedestal down]
Descending to hem height as she takes two steps across the concrete.
- 04[Push in]
Close on the strap and shoulder line, held long enough to read the weave.
