What breaks without it
Style is the entire value of an animated piece, and style is exactly what drifts. Line weight, palette and proportion all wander between unrelated generations.
How the run is built
- 01Name the medium precisely — gouache, cel, stop-motion felt — and repeat it nowhere but the continuity block.
- 02Keep character proportions in writing: head-to-body ratio, silhouette, one or two fixed props.
- 03Open each shot on the previous frame so the palette carries rather than resets.
The part you write once
This block is prepended to every shot in the run before it reaches the model. It is the reason shot four still has the same cast, the same room and the same grade as shot one. Edit it and the whole sequence moves together.
Hand-painted gouache look, visible brush texture, warm paper grain. A small round fox with oversized ears and a red scarf, three heads tall. Autumn forest, ochre and burnt sienna palette, soft dappled light, no outlines.
The part you edit per shot
Shot one is directed from text. Every shot after it opens on the previous shot's final frame, so the cut lands on continuous motion.
- 01[Pull out]
The fox wakes in a hollow log and blinks at the light coming through the leaves.
- 02[Tracking shot]
It trots along a fallen branch, scarf trailing, leaves lifting behind it.
- 03[Tilt up]
It stops and looks up at a canopy full of hanging paper lanterns.
- 04[Push in]
Close on its face as the first lantern drifts down towards it.
